Baptism & Membership

BAPTISM REQUIREMENT

 

Go through the New Life Class (attached) first before being interviewed for baptism.

Usually, baptism will be held around Easter and Christmas, during the joint service so all can witness and celebrate.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT

 

Also, after the baptism, they need to go through a Membership Class, using "I Am a Church Member - Discovering the attitude that makes the difference" by Thom S. Rainer, to be purchased.

Also, in the LIALC Constitution, ARTICLE IV - Membership

 

Section 1: Admission of Members - Any regenerated Christian regardless of race or nationality may be elected as a member 

upon being proposed for membership by two members, and  upon receiving a majority vote of the members present at a Deacon Board meeting.

Baptism 

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28: 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Romans 6: 3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
